Chaz Picks Up a Dumbbell!

Gordon worries about obese children. See The Fit Woman: Holy Nation of Fat F@#%S Batman! But what about fat dogs? (And you thought you came to a women's fitness blog).

Chaz has acquired a beer belly. Lately, he has been noticing me at home doing concentration curls and overhead triceps extensions. He also has been watching Talia the cat (his difficult roommate) pick up catnip toys with her two paws and throw them overhead. So now Chaz is attempting new feats. I found him trying to wrap his two little arms around the dumbbell bar, roll it on to his tummy and attempt a dog version of bench press. I am so glad he is modeling the healthy behavior of his parents and siblings. Nonetheless, he still must go on a diet, doggie bench presses and all.

playimg & running outdoors is the best exercise for dogs, they also like to swim - doggie paddle

As far as a diet goes; the problem with most fat pets is either over eating or eating what their owners do (so yours should not be fat unless there are too many doogie treats)

An unfit owner unusally has unfit pets just like unfit parents have a higher # of unfit kids. So if the diet is good Chaz should be pretty fit

The best test too see what dogs really like to eat is put out 2 dishes one with horrible, processed people food & one with a rare steak - guess which chaz will eat? Animals know what is better for them to eat, its just that they will eat what is available.

The most absurd thing I have ever heard of is vegetarian pet food - dogs (and people) are designed to eat meat!

Later! - going to eat some meat!
